Credit Reports

You can access your credit report in two ways. Either via your Statutory Credit Report or an Online Credit Report.

Your Statutory Credit Report is available to you by right, under The Data Protection Act 1998, and will be sent to you by post, within seven days of your request, usually at a cost of £2.

It will give you the opportunity to lodge disputes against any information which you consider to be incorrect, and to have proven errors corrected within 28 days.

Your Online Credit Report tends to give you a lot more information. It can be viewed online at any time day or night, for a thirty day period, and will show your credit score and give advice and comment on various aspects of the report. In addition you can access online helplines that will give you a greater understanding of anything that can affect your credit position.
